Ride with us through the magnificent Gila (pronounced
Hee-la) Wilderness which is nearly a half-million acres
of pristine beauty, surrounded by the 3.3 million acre Gila
National Forest. It hold rugged mountain vistas, countless
canyons and natural hot springs in a land of legend, history
and remarkable beauty.
Over 185 miles of beautiful trout streams cascade down
through nearly impassable, narrow canyons bottoms. Many
peaks within the Wilderness exceed 10,000 feet in elevation
and form the watershed for the Gila and San Francisco Rivers.
